Mahe Shipping Company Ltd has donated SCR 50,000 to the Vocational Training Centre (VTC) in support of the Centre’s efforts to enhance its learning resources and facilities.

The donation was handed over during a ceremony attended by representatives from the Family Department, Mahe Shipping, VTC staff, students and some parents. The contribution will go towards specialised learning resources and equipping the Centre’s new library, helping to strengthen its vocational training programmes and provide students with greater access to resources and technology.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mahe Shipping CEO Jessica Larue explained that the initiative forms part of the company’s 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, which focuses on creating meaningful, sustainable and measurable impact within the community.

She highlighted educational empowerment as an important area of focus and reaffirmed Mahe Shipping’s commitment to supporting opportunities for young people to develop practical skills, build confidence and gain greater independence. ‘’At Mahe Shipping, we believe that education is not one-size-fits-all. VTC Office Manager Genevieve Boniface expressed her appreciation for the donation and highlighted the positive impact that the additional resources and technology will have on the Centre’s training programmes and students.
